Fire and flood victims part of easter message

The first wave of flooding was reported in Los Angeles County about 10:40 a.m. Tuesday, with heavy rains reported after that, according to the Water Resources Board.
By 12:30 p.m., about 100 homes had flooded, and another 130 were being assessed, according to the Water Resources Board. At least 10 people had been killed and at least 23 others had been rescued, the agency said.
By 1 p.m. Wednesday, about 150 homes had been flooded, and a further 100 were under assessment, the Water Resources Board reported.

Fires and other water damage were reported in San Francisco and San Diego counties as well as parts of New York City and several other New England states.
Fire officials told KABC-TV, a public television station in San Francisco, that they believe fires are behind at least nine deaths in the Bay Area so far.
